Toy Tips

Alphabet Rocks Book

Children learn the alphabet through repetition, memorization and practice. Introducing letters and sounds early on assists a child with speech and visual recognition. This book is an educational tool to teach the American English alphabet. The sing-song reading, rhymes and bright engaging illustrations garnered attention from our testers, and children often asked to have the book read “again.” An ideal activity to “shake your sillies out”, the whole family can turn the story into a fun family-time activity. Or for one on one parent interaction, this is an ideal bedtime story. Follow it with The ABC Song! There is also a special coloring area for a child to individualize the book.

Today - Toy DriveThis year has been such a difficult one for so many families in the United States. There are those in the news who have been left homeless by Katrina and Rita. Add to that the military families
separated by war. Then there are those you don’t see, who every day live in poverty, nearly invisible in the media.

Rising food and gas prices are leaving needy families with little for holiday gifts. With so many families in great need this year, “Today” is working hard to put a smile on the faces of millions of children with its 12th Annual Holiday Toy Drive. Now underway, the effort continues a long tradition of reaching beyond Studio 1A and into the lives of families in underserved communities all over the United States. Last holiday season, “Today” viewers, website visitors and corporate contributors teamed up to provide a record $32.6 million worth of toys, books, games, clothing, toiletries, electronics, musical instruments, CDs, videos, cosmetics and other suitable gifts to more than 3 million children via 210 organizations in all 50 states.

The “Today” Show Toy Drive is a project of the Today Show Charitable Foundation, Inc., a 501c3 non-profit organization. All donations are tax deductible to the extent the law allows...

Gerry Frank's Celebrities Staffing “is a handy firm to know about! They have a good track record for finding the best baby nurses, nannies, ‘mannies’ (male nannies) housekeepers, ladies’ maids, butlers and housemen, chefs, couples, house managers, personal assistants, personal shoppers, chauffeurs, caregivers, and other types of personnel. Not surprisingly, bodyguards are one of the more popular service categories.”

The May 8, 2005 episode of Soap Talk:
Celebrities Staffing Services was featured on Soap Talk, where we presented a wonderful bouquet of flowers and a $5000 gift voucher, which included butler services for two days, to the winner of the complete make-over contest.

It was reported that Celebrities Staffing Services is the Agency where celebrities turn for the best nannies, housekeepers, butlers, chefs, personal assistants and the list goes on and on. It was also indicated that it is an agency with a difference. They have in fact gone a step further and launched an online institute so that their clients’ employees (and any other domestic professionals who are interested) can upgrade their skills in their spare time without inconveniencing their employers.

...But it’s not just muscle-bound he-men who join the profession. Women bodyguards are increasingly popular, and Glenda Ross, reservations manager for New York’s Celebrities and Executives Domestic Services agency, has one woman on her books who’s such a hit with clients she commands $3,000 a day. “People don’t really expect a bodyguard to look like a model...so she’s got a built-in element of surprise working to her advantage.”...Like the rest of the agency’s bodyguards, she’s required to have Secret Service, Police or State Department training, know how to use a gun and be skilled in all manner of personal protective techniques and evasive driving. “Fees begin at around $1,000 a day for two bodyguards...to around $10,000...Hourly rates...start around $100. And if it’s round-the-clock full-time protection you’re looking for, you can fork over as much as $300,000 a year.”
